random advice for college recruitment
Random advice I would give college girls going through recruitment.
I know it can be scary but just be yourself. You want to be comfortable in a house where you can be yourself not someone you are pretending to be.
- you’re going to be so tired. At my school we went to 7 houses for 30 minutes each in 1 day. It’s a lot. And it’s also repetitive. You will be so tired so make sure you’re getting good sleep and eating good so you don’t get sick.
- BRING A FANNN ðŸªðŸªðŸªðŸªðŸª it was like 95 when I went through. It was so hot! So on another note bring water!!
- I wanted to try new hairstyles so I would practice the night before to make sure it looked how I wanted and i wouldn’t be rushed the next day.
- being disappointed in this process is normal. It’s okay to be upset that a house dropped you. Rejection is hard. But keep your head up!
- bring an umbrella the weather is crazy and unpredictable.
- everything happens for a reason!

The college recruitment process can be overwhelming, especially for first-time participants. Here are some additional insights to help you navigate this journey: First and foremost, remember that authenticity is key. As you meet various sorority houses, focus on being yourself. This allows you to connect genuinely with potential sisters who will appreciate you for who you are, not a façade. Sleep and nutrition play crucial roles in your recruitment journey. With tight schedules and multiple house visits, prioritize rest and healthy meals to maintain your energy levels. Consider packing snacks and staying hydrated throughout the day to avoid fatigue. Your appearance is important too. Spend some time experimenting with different hairstyles and makeup looks ahead of recruitment day to boost your confidence. Practice makes perfect, and it will help minimize stress on the actual day. Dealing with rejection can be challenging, but it's a part of the recruitment process. Don't let it discourage you. Many people face similar feelings; statistically, it's common for candidates to be dropped from houses. Keep a positive mindset as everything happens for a reason, and your perfect fit is waiting for you, even if it's not immediately apparent. Lastly, preparation is essential. Beyond bringing water and snacks, consider packing items like breath mints, an extra pair of comfortable shoes, and a portable fan for those unexpectedly hot days. An umbrella is also wise, as weather can change unexpectedly during the recruitment period. By being well-prepared, you set yourself up for success and peace of mind. Embrace the journey, make meaningful connections, and enjoy the process of discovering where you truly belong!
