Nutritious meals I eat on a college budget!
Starting my morning off with a spinach and peanut butter smoothie!!! So yum and tasty. 23g of protein!
Today, I paired it with a blue berry bagel! I usually would pair it with hard boiled eggs or steak buttt I got lazy and forgot to boil the eggs last night! Then I had already meal prepped my lunch for today. My new fav thing to meal prep is sweet potato fries. They are so easy to make and so good! I went to work today and they had nachos for us! But I ate my lunch as a snack lol, but I’ll take any free food I can get!!! I also don’t really have to buy dinner groceries because my sorority feed us dinner every night of the week 😊 I typically try to keep my grocery trips short and quick so I don’t get things i won’t eat. I stick to vegetables (carrots and sweet potatoes), grass fed beef, and eggs. Occasionally I’ll go crazy and get bagels, chips, and cookies. #lemon8partner #lemon8college #collegemeals #collegebudget #collegefoodideas
Eating nutritious meals while staying on a college budget can seem challenging, but with a bit of planning and smart shopping, it's definitely achievable. Incorporating ingredients like spinach and peanut butter in your morning smoothie can provide a powerful protein boost—23 grams per serving helps keep you energized through your classes and activities. Pairing this with affordable staple items like bagels adds carbs for sustained energy without breaking the bank. When meal prepping, sweet potato fries are a fantastic option since sweet potatoes are budget-friendly, rich in vitamins and fiber, and easy to prepare. Roasting a batch for the week helps you save time and enjoy a tasty side dish or snack. Focusing grocery trips on key items such as vegetables (carrots, sweet potatoes), grass-fed beef, and eggs not only supports a nutritious diet but also helps control spending by avoiding unnecessary purchases. It’s understandable to indulge occasionally in bagels, chips, or cookies, but the core of your diet will fuel your body and mind. Moreover, taking advantage of free food options, like the nachos available at work or meals provided by a sorority, not only helps stretch your food budget but also reduces food waste. Remember to keep grocery shopping trips purposeful and efficient—having a list centered around essentials minimizes impulse buys and ensures you only get what you will eat. By combining these strategies and focusing on nutrient-dense foods, you can enjoy varied and satisfying meals without overspending. Nutritious eating on a college budget is manageable with simple recipes and mindful grocery purchases, helping you maintain energy, health, and focus throughout your busy student life.
