You are redeemed. You are reconciled.
But what do those words really mean?
✨ Redemption means Jesus paid the price for our sin. We were trapped in a debt we could never repay and separated from God because of sin. Jesus took our place, died on the cross, and shed His blood to pay the penalty we deserved. He bought us back, rescued us from bondage, and gave us freedom through His sacrifice.
✨ Reconciliation means that because of what Jesus did, our relationship with God can be restored. Sin broke fellowship between humanity and God, but Jesus became the bridge. Through His death and resurrection, He removed the barrier of sin and made peace between us and the Father.
Think about it:
❤️ Jesus lived the perfect life we could not live. ❤️ Jesus took upon Himself the punishment we deserved. ❤️ Jesus died in our place on the cross. ❤️ Jesus rose again, defeating sin and death. ❤️ Jesus made a way for us to draw near to God.
Romans 5 reminds us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God didn't wait for us to get our lives together. He loved us first and made the first move toward reconciliation.
Because of Jesus: ✅ The debt has been paid. ✅ The barrier has been removed. ✅ The relationship can be restored. ✅ We have peace with God. ✅ We have access to His grace.
