Are You Letting Christ or Your Flesh Do the Talking? If it isn’t spoken with love, it isn’t Christ. I don’t care how “Godly” it sounds… watch the full video on how we handle arguments on our YouTube channel, link in bio✨ #christian#christianriage #marriedlife #christiangirl #womenofGod

... Read moreOver time, I've realized that the way we communicate in marriage can either build up or break down our relationship. The phrase "THIS CHANGED THE WAY I SPOKE TO MY HUSBAND" truly resonated with me because it captures the transformative power of speaking from a place of love inspired by Christ. There were many moments when I thought sounding "godly" was enough, but without love, those words felt hollow and even hurtful. One personal experience that helped me shift was pausing before responding during conflicts. Instead of reacting with frustration or defensiveness, I started asking myself if my words reflected Christ’s love and patience. This simple habit changed many heated arguments into calm and constructive discussions. I also found that focusing on the intent behind my words made a big difference. When speaking harshly, I was actually letting my flesh talk—driven by pride, anger, or insecurity. But when I intentionally chose words that were kind, encouraging, and truth-filled, communication felt more genuine and healing. Incorporating prayer before conversations was another practice that grounded me. Asking God to guide my speech and soften my heart helped me speak with empathy and understanding. This has brought more peace and unity in our marriage. Overall, letting Christ rather than the flesh do the talking means prioritizing love above being "right" or winning arguments. It’s a daily choice, but the result is worth it: deeper connection, mutual respect, and a relationship that honors God. I encourage others to try these approaches—they truly changed how I speak to my husband and could do the same for you.
