For the new ones that don’t know we had a fire at our old apartment, Paisley was around 10 months old. We lost quite a bit of stuff and then we moved to the house that we’re in now I haven’t went through any of our fire stuff all of it is in storage still but we had this little corner in the house that had some stuff in it that I’ve been trying to go through and this is me going through it finding clothes I didn’t realize I had I thought I lost in the fire. Most of the clothes I have pre-fire got ruined or tossed out, so I was pretty happy that I saw these clothes because I’ve been trying to find my new style being postpartum now two years it’s been a bit tricky, but we’re gonna do a little bit of a try on haul with some clothes. Stay tuned, but this is just a little bit of a Vlog of me just seeing what I had still. #vlog ##downsizing #cleanwithmemotivation #momtok #ppd
Going through clothes I thought were lost in the fire was such an emotional experience for me. It made me realize how much sentimental value we attach to our belongings, especially when they remind us of different stages of life. As a mom navigating postpartum style changes, I found this process to be both healing and empowering. One thing I noticed while sorting through the clothes was that many items had a story behind them—like the church-appropriate outfits and the casual summer pieces. It reminded me that our wardrobe reflects not only our physical changes but also our lifestyle and identity shifts. For anyone going through a similar experience, whether downsizing, dealing with loss, or reinventing your fashion post-pregnancy, I recommend taking your time to rediscover what you truly love and feel comfortable in. I also found motivation in setting small goals, like organizing a small corner each day instead of tackling everything at once. This made the overwhelming task manageable and fun. Plus, sharing my journey with others through this vlog/haul kept me accountable and connected with a supportive community on platforms like momtok. Remember, style isn’t about following trends blindly—especially postpartum—but about celebrating your current self. Wearing clothes that make you feel confident and authentic is the most important thing. If you’re feeling lost with your wardrobe due to life changes or unforeseen events, try revisiting pieces you forgot you had; they might surprise you! Lastly, this experience taught me the value of patience and self-compassion during transitions. It’s okay for style and identity to evolve gradually. Keep experimenting, stay positive, and most importantly, be gentle with yourself through every step of your journey.
