What is ONE item you packed that you couldn’t live without during labor or postpartum? Drop it below! ⬇️

Packing your hospital bag can feel overwhelming, but having a detailed checklist can truly ease your mind. From personal experience, I found that including specific comfort items, like a pillow with a colored pillowcase and favorite snacks, made a huge difference during my stay. Also, don’t forget to confirm that your infant car seat is properly installed ahead of time; many hospitals require this for discharge. It's helpful to prepare important documents in one folder—photo ID, insurance card, birth plan, pediatrician contact, and emergency contacts—so you’re organized upon arrival. For Mom, comfortable clothing like loose pajamas, nursing bras, and flip-flops for shower use kept me feeling relaxed postpartum. Plus, toiletries like toothpaste, hairbrush, lip balm, and face moisturizer make a hospital room feel a bit more like home. Including essentials for your support person, such as snacks, entertainment (books or tablets with headphones), and a change of clothes, can help them stay comfortable and supportive throughout labor. For your baby, pack newborn outfits, swaddle blankets, mittens, and burp cloths. Hospitals usually provide diapers and wipes, but having a few extras on hand is wise. Remember to bring your phone charger with a long cord and any must-have comfort items like a pacifier or a special blanket. Last-minute items should be double-checked—wallet, keys, camera, and a birth announcement sign if you want to capture those first precious moments. Overall, packing your hospital bag by 35 to 36 weeks gestation gives you peace of mind in case your baby arrives early. Trust this checklist to keep you prepared, comfortable, and focused on the unforgettable journey ahead.

One thing I’d add isn’t actually something you pack—Burpi. I used it to track feeds and diapers from day one, and now we still use it for solids and food reactions.
