I’m ngl idk HOW I started going backwards
I've often found myself wondering how I ended up feeling like I'm going backwards, even when my intentions were to move forward. It's a strangely common experience, where despite our best efforts, circumstances or internal doubts cause us to feel like we're losing ground instead of gaining it. From personal experience, this feeling can stem from several sources. Sometimes it's external—unexpected challenges at work, strained relationships, or health setbacks. Other times, it might come from within, such as self-doubt, fear of failure, or not recognizing progress because it's too gradual. One useful approach I discovered is to pause and reassess my goals and expectations. Are they realistic? Am I measuring my progress fairly? It helped me realize that moving forward is not always a straight line, and what feels like going backwards is often part of a necessary slowdown or reset that prepares you for future growth. Sharing my journey with friends or through writing also provided clarity. It reminded me that setbacks are temporary and offer valuable lessons. Most importantly, embracing patience with myself and resilience helped me regain momentum. If you ever feel stuck or like you're regressing, try to reflect on the bigger picture. What have you learned? How can this experience shape your next steps? Remember, progress often includes detours, and acknowledging them is part of a healthy, authentic journey toward your goals.
