Birth story:
- woke up at 1:30am with a sharp pain. Was able to fall back to sleep
- woke up again at 3:30am, couldn’t fall asleep. So I went downstairs and started to get things ready
- work husband up at 5am to help clean home and get dogs over to my moms
- arranged for our friends to pickup Bayli
- enjoyed breakfast together for the last time as a family of 3 🥹
- said goodbye to Bayli
- put the tens unit on my back and rode through each contraction until they were really long and close together.
- filled up birth tub. Labored in there for a few contractions. Things slowed down.
- felt like I needed to stand up, got out of the tub and went to the toilet. Had a few contractions back to back with no breaks. Knew if I laid down on the bed I’d get a break
- rode through 3 contractions laying down and regained my energy with the breaks. I knew the second I stood up that baby was coming soon. I got on all fours and used my birth ball for support. Started to feel like pushing.
- midwives filled the tub up again so it was warm. Got in. Had about 6 more intense contractions, could feel her head.
- few more contractions later her head came, then her body. Husband and midwives caught her and untangled her in the water from the cord.
- got her through my legs and held our sweet baby girl! I bawled my eyes out. Was such an incredible moment 😭🥹
Placenta came a short while after. Had some of the membrane stuck but we managed. Got into bed. Midwives confirmed no tearing. Payton latched on straight away. Got everything cleaned up and ate some soup! Husband took a long nap. Then had our friends drop Bayli off.
We Had the best birth team. Literally angels! Not to mention my husband who coached me the whole way through. He was an absolute champion. We are in awe with how smooth everything went.
And huge shoutout to our friends for watching Bayli the entire time and bringing me a protein shake 🔥
Bayli was a little confused when she came home and seen a baby in my arms but has been warming up to her. We are learning boundaries! She is the best big sis and we speak over her what she is capable of, which is to love and protect her baby sister. 💕
