Me and laundry has a falling out 💔

Am I the only one who dreads doing laundry 😩

The baskets are always full. It never ends. It hurts my back.

There has to be an easier way!! I’m on a mission to create a better system for this chaos. I want to love doing laundry and find joy in it. I’m thinking I need to start listening to music or podcasts or something during this time. My brain keeps thinking of all the thousand other chores I need to do on top of this. And don’t start me on folding everything!!

2 kids + husband + me + dogs is wild!!

Any advice on what has helped you???

SOS!

... Read moreLaundry can often feel like an endless chore, especially for busy families. For many, it’s a daunting task that feels overwhelming, particularly when faced with piles of clothes from kids and pets. To make your laundry experience more enjoyable, consider incorporating some music or favorite podcasts to keep your spirits up while you work. Creating a system can also alleviate the stress; organizing laundry days based on the types of clothes or using designated bins can streamline the process. Engaging the entire family can turn laundry from a solo task into a shared family activity. Assigning age-appropriate tasks to children can not only lighten your load but also teach them essential life skills. For instance, older kids can help with sorting and folding, while younger ones can handle simpler tasks. You might also make it a fun game to see who can fold the quickest! Embrace modern technology; using time-saving appliances like washing machines with built-in dryers or smart washers can significantly reduce the time spent on laundry. Using laundry services or a washer-dryer combo can be great options for those with hectic schedules. Lastly, don’t forget about self-care! Consider treating yourself to small rewards post-laundry, like a delicious snack or some downtime with a favorite show. When laundry becomes a routine with positive associations, it transforms from a dreaded task into a manageable and sometimes enjoyable part of household chores.

Some tips: 1. Declutter! The less you have, the less you have to wash. Laundry can’t pile up because you have to wash things (same with dishes) 2. Idk if you do this, but just throw everything in one laundry basket and wash together on cold. More baskets and sorting creates more work and makes it harder.
