Okay, so let's talk about something I've personally struggled with for ages: chapped, flaky lips. You know the feeling, right? No matter how much lip balm you apply, they just never feel truly smooth, and lipstick looks terrible. I was on a mission to find something that actually *worked*, and that's when I stumbled upon The Ordinary Lip Exfoliator. And let me tell you, it's been a total game-changer for my lip care routine! When I first heard about "The Ordinary" having a lip product, I was immediately curious. They're known for their effective, no-frills skincare, so I had high hopes. What I discovered is that this isn't just any lip product; it's truly a "Lip = exfoliating serum," as I've seen it described, and that's exactly what my lips needed. It's designed to gently slough away dead skin cells without being harsh, which is super important for delicate lip skin. Before this, I tried sugar scrubs, brushes, you name it, but they often felt too abrasive or just didn't deliver lasting results. The Ordinary's version, being a serum, feels much more controlled and soothing. It contains ingredients that help to chemically and physically exfoliate, but in a very balanced way. I noticed almost immediately that my lips felt softer and smoother after just one use. It's like it preps them perfectly for whatever lip balm or treatment you put on next, allowing those hydrating ingredients to really sink in. My routine is pretty simple with this product. I apply a small amount to clean, dry lips, usually in the evening. I gently massage it in for about 30 seconds to a minute – you can actually feel it working its magic, but it's not irritating at all. Then, I rinse it off with warm water. Sometimes, if my lips are extra dry, I'll follow up with a thick hydrating lip mask or just my favorite heavy-duty lip balm. I usually do this 2-3 times a week, depending on how my lips are feeling. The biggest difference I've seen is how much better my lipsticks apply now. Before, they would settle into all the dry patches, making my lips look even worse. Now, my lip color goes on flawlessly, and my lips look healthier and plumper. It's truly transformed my pout.
