Broken Wrist, Electric scooter accident.
Riding electric scooters can be thrilling, but this experience taught me firsthand just how quickly things can go wrong. When I lost control and went over the handlebars at 38 mph, the impact broke my wrist severely. From the initial shock to the painful X-rays showing the radius fracture, it was a tough journey. The upcoming surgery with screws to repair the bones added to the anxiety but was necessary for proper healing. I never expected just how delicate wrist bones are and how much they affect everyday tasks. It’s important to always wear protective gear like wrist guards and a helmet when riding electric scooters, especially at high speeds. Even if you’re careful, accidents can happen due to road conditions or rider error. I also learned to stay aware of surroundings and avoid risky maneuvers. Recovery takes patience and commitment to physical therapy. The wrist needs to regain strength and flexibility after surgery, which often includes soreness and frustration. Having a support system and following medical advice closely made a big difference. Overall, this accident illustrated the real risks of electric scooters and the importance of safety precautions. Sharing this story is my way of reminding fellow riders to respect their limits and protect their bodies to avoid similar broken bones and emergency surgeries.
