pH of Black Soap

I totally get it! When I first started using African Black Soap (ABS), I was so excited about all the natural benefits I'd heard about – clearing acne, evening skin tone, deep cleansing. Reduce Frequency: Start slow! Don't use it every day. Maybe 2-3 times a week, gradually increasing if your skin tolerates it well. If your skin is sensitive, perhaps even less frequently. Moisturize Heavily: After rinsing off the soap, immediately follow up with a rich, hydrating moisturizer to help restore your skin's acid mantle and prevent dryness. Check Ingredients: Not all 'African Black Soaps' are created equal. Some commercial versions might have added ingredients that are also irritating, or are formulated with a lower, more skin-friendly pH. Look for traditional ingredients like plantain skins, cocoa pods, palm kernel oil, and shea butter. If it has a long list of unfamiliar chemicals, it might not be the real deal, or it might be a 'modernized' version that could still cause issues.
