I broke all the resume rules in 2025, and it works
I gave up on doing resumes “right” I used color, and talked like a human.
Before:
My old resume was boring, black and white, basic templates and I used buzzwords like “team player”, “motivated” and “detail oriented”, I had no visuals.. it was too wordy! I got ghosted every time. 🪦
After:
I used personal brand colors and a clean 2-column layout (feel free to ask if you want to see it)
I used real results like how I increased a product sale one time by 22% in a healthcare setting by revamping the customer follow-up strategy and optimizing email campaign timing!
I replaced my soft skills with PROOF, and I added tiny visuals like a mini logo and a skills meter to personalize it.
I cut out my full address and added my LinkedIn and short portfolio link instead
Results:
I got replies within 48 hours, I landed 3 interviews in one week! And the recruiter told me that my resume was super easy to skim and memorable 🫶🏻
