What’s the first thing you panic-Googled
✨ When I started my very first healthcare job, I thought the hardest part would be keeping up with the medical terms. Turns out…the hardest part was secretly panic-Googling everything without anyone noticing 😅.
During my first week, my search history looked like:
• “Difference between gingivitis vs periodontitis (for dummies)”
• “What does prophylaxis actually mean in dentistry?”
• “How to read a patient chart without looking confused”
• “What is the polite way to ask a doctor to repeat a word I didn’t understand?”
I’ll never forget shadowing a dentist and nodding along confidently while inside my head I was screaming, Google, please save me right now. At one point, I literally typed in “how to pronounce orthodontics” just to make sure I wouldn’t embarrass myself.
The funny thing is, the more time I spent around doctors, dentists, and patients, the more I realized no one expects you to know everything on day one. Most of them were super understanding, and some even admitted they did the exact same thing when they first started.
Looking back, I laugh because those tiny panic moments were actually part of how I learned. Google became my secret study buddy, and every search made me a little more confident.
👉 So I’m curious.. if you’ve ever worked in healthcare, what’s the first thing you panic-Googled during your first week on the job? Or if not healthcare, what’s your funniest “new job” Google search? I promise, we’ve all been there 😂

When I was on the phones I was googling every job that was hiring 😭. Thankfully I stayed. First thing I googled in this position was how to use excel and I still don’t know how to use it 😂
