Check on the chickens with me
Got two fresh eggs this morning 🥰 we got 5 eggs yesterday! #chickens #backyardchickens
Maintaining a backyard chicken coop has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. Waking up to fresh eggs almost daily is a small but delightful perk that makes the effort worthwhile. I’ve learned that consistent care is key to keeping chickens healthy and productive. This includes providing clean water, balanced feed, and a safe, secure environment away from predators. One tip I found helpful is to check on the chickens twice a day—once in the morning to collect eggs and another time in the evening to ensure they are all accounted for and settled in safely. Recording the number of eggs collected daily, like getting 2 eggs one morning and 5 the day before, helps monitor their laying patterns and health. Besides egg production, chickens are also wonderful for pest control in the garden and help in composting food scraps. I also encourage fellow backyard chicken keepers to participate in community forums or use hashtags like #backyardchickens and #chickens on social media. Sharing experiences can provide valuable support and advice to both beginners and seasoned keepers.
