our $11k kitchen renovation updates 🥰✨

it’s been awhile since our last update with lots of things going on in life - from busy work trips to job change to settling in to our new home! but we’re back with new updates on our renovated home ❤️

first off, the kitchen! we decided to do an open kitchen concept becos T really wanted a big kitchen island. we also have:

✅ a side dry pantry for appliances

✅ a tall unit for the microwave + build in oven

also sharing some reno non-regrets for us and things to take note when renovating your kitchen:

1. we LOVEEE having a condiments drawer and highly recommend it!! it is so easy to find everything you need in that one drawer and keeps everything so organised as well. the height fits everything too - even the taller items like olive oil

2. we also customised a long drawer specifically to keep all our pots and pans! this is about 90cmW (compared to the usual drawers/cupboards which are around 50-60cmW). we can really keep a lot pots and pans in these drawers as you can see in the pictures hahaha

note: we only opted for blum hinges for our condiments drawer and the long drawer for pots and pans, especially as the weight was much heavier! and are using normal hinges for the rest

3. if you have the space, we also highly recommend allocating a part of your carpentry for your robo vacuum storage!! you can let your carpenter know the height of the vacuum and they can easily allocate sufficient space for the vacuum to come out easily

there’s also a powerpoint inside the carpentry, and you can request for a water inlet/outlet here too

4. pls do get a corner kitchen fan!!!! it is so so useful when we’re cooking and helps with the ventilation a lot! looks super aesthetic as well

5. especially if you’re doing an open kitchen like us, do get a strong cooker hood system with better suction power

... Read moreIf you're considering a kitchen renovation promotion or looking to maximize your budget, it's essential to prioritize both function and style like we did. One thing we learned is that investing in quality hinges, such as Blum hinges for heavier drawers, really pays off in the long run for durability and smooth use. We also found that custom cabinetry tailored to your lifestyle enhances convenience—especially the long drawers dedicated to pots and pans. This single change made a world of difference in keeping our kitchen clutter-free. Another practical tip is to integrate tech-friendly storage areas. Allocating space for a robo vacuum inside your cabinetry not only keeps the floor neat but also protects the device. Including a power outlet there adds extra convenience. Ventilation should never be an afterthought. Our corner kitchen fan and high-suction cooker hood drastically improved airflow and reduced cooking odors, which is especially important for open kitchen layouts. Choosing appliances known for their efficiency can also be part of promotional deals you encounter. Lastly, always communicate clearly with your carpenter or designer about your ideal kitchen use. Whether it’s a pantry for appliances or special drawers for condiments, clear planning ensures your renovation matches your cooking habits and overall home aesthetic. Beyond aesthetics, these insights from our renovation process can help you make informed decisions, so your revamped kitchen feels like the heart of your home.

Lovely Kitchen✨
Nothing too complicated, but everything works the way it should. Coming home, you can just drop your things on the counter— no awkward movement, everything flows. White on top, wood below, light but still warm. Handleless cabinets keep it looking clean, and somehow it makes the whole sp

60 secs home tour - Kitchen
A kitchen doesn’t have to be all about heavy cabinets and appliances. If you’ve noticed, we don’t have upper cabinets or a hood. We wanted a kitchen that feels light, open, and free from clutter—a space we genuinely enjoy prepping and cooking in. Ever considered ditching the upper cabinets in
