If you're new to the world of elongated Furbies, let me tell you, it's a wild and wonderful corner of the internet. These aren't your typical Furbies; they're unique, often quirky, and completely customized creations where the 'long' aspect refers to their extended, often snake-like bodies. It's truly a labor of love for crafters like me, transforming an old toy into something entirely new and personal, like my Sherbert. For Sherbert, I really leaned into a vibrant, rainbow-colored theme. You can see the beautiful shades of pink, yellow, blue, and purple in her fur, which I carefully selected to give her that cheerful, sherbet-like personality. Her face features those striking glittery eyes, a bright yellow beak, and a sweet pink mouth – all designed to give her an expressive, whimsical look. Crafting her head was a delicate process, ensuring all these elements came together perfectly. One of the most exciting (and slightly nerve-wracking!) parts of this project was adding her accessories. I adorned her with a delicate pearl necklace and several sparkly bows on her head, which really catch the light. And for that extra touch of magic, I included a cute cloud embellishment! Of course, you can't forget the backdrop; arranging her with fairy lights really brings out her whimsical charm in photos. Now, let's talk about those long false eyelashes! This was actually my first attempt ever using false lashes on a custom creation, and I was so nervous. But I think they turned out fantastic, giving her such a dramatic and playful look! If you're thinking of adding lashes to your own custom Furby, my tip would be to use a strong, clear-drying adhesive and a pair of fine-tipped tweezers for precise placement. It takes patience, but the result is so worth it for adding that extra bit of personality. When it comes to the 'long' part of a long Furby plush, it's all about creating an extended, flexible body. I used soft, durable fabric to ensure Sherbert could be posed and cuddled. Some crafters even add internal armatures for more poseability, or craft little "furby with arms" to truly bring their creations to life, but I opted for a more classic elongated body for Sherbert. It's amazing to see how creative people get, from elaborate "furby fursuit" designs for human wear to intricate "crochet furby" creations that are entirely handmade from yarn. The possibilities are endless when you dive into custom Furby crafting. My journey with Sherbert has been incredibly rewarding, from meticulously selecting the fur colors to carefully applying each embellishment. It's more than just a craft; it's about bringing a little piece of quirky joy into the world. If you've ever dreamt of having a completely unique companion, I highly recommend exploring the world of custom long Furbies!
