... Read moreHey fellow ghost hunters! If you're anything like me, you've probably spent countless hours trying to figure out what spooky entity is haunting that house in Phasmophobia. I used to struggle with rapidly identifying ghosts, especially when things got spooky fast, but I've picked up some amazing tricks that make 'ghost observation' so much easier, especially in those crucial first moments of a contract. The game often makes it easier for you, as the original post hints, by presenting early evidence or behaviors. The key is knowing what to look for! That magical "first 20 seconds of contract" is absolutely vital for early rule-outs. As soon as you step in, grab your thermometer and EMF reader. Your goal is to find the ghost room and get an initial reading. Listen intently for any interactions – a thrown item, a door opening, or even just a whisper. These early signs are your first clues. Now, let's talk about observing specific ghost behaviors that can lead to instant rule-outs or strong suspicions based on what I've learned from my own hunts: Mare Observation: The OCR mentioned "TURN THE LIGHT ON. IT'S NOT... AND BREAKERS." This is a classic Mare indicator! Mares love darkness. If lights keep getting turned off frequently, especially if you're turning them on, a Mare is a strong suspect. Conversely, if lights are consistently turning *on*, it's likely not a Mare. Pay attention to those light switches! Jinn Observation: The OCR also noted, "AND BREAKERS OFF. WE CAN RULE OUT JINN." Jinns are interesting because they don't turn off the breaker. If you find the breaker turned off early in the game, you can immediately rule out Jinn. They also won't turn off the lights unless they are hunting, and they can be incredibly fast if their power source (the breaker) is on and they're chasing you from a distance. Oni Observation: "ALRIGHT. IT'S NOT AN ONI. THEY DON'T DO AIRBALLS." An Oni is a very active ghost, but they rarely do the 'mist form' or 'airball' ghost events. If you see a lot of these misty apparitions, you can often rule out an Oni. They prefer manifesting as full-bodied apparitions, making them easier to spot physically during events. Hantu Observation: Although not explicitly in the OCR's quotes, Hantu was listed as a ghost type. Observing temperatures is key here. Hantus move faster in colder temperatures and slower in warmer ones. If you notice the ghost room is consistently freezing cold and the ghost seems incredibly quick during a hunt, you've got a strong Hantu contender. Beyond these behavioral nuances, always be observing for physical evidence. The OCR mentioned "ading en the EMF Reader" and "ctly distarbance within DOTS Projector." Get that EMF reader out for those initial sweeps. Place your DOTS Projector in the ghost room and watch for those distinct disturbances. And don't forget your UV light for "hand ar footprints" – fingerprints on light switches, doors, or windows are crucial. With the right observation, you can quickly narrow down the ghost types in your journal. Effective 'ghost observation' isn't just about waiting for an event; it's about being proactive. Listen for ghost sounds, watch for interactions, and use your starting gear efficiently. Communicate what you're observing with your team. These early game observations can make all the difference between a successful hunt and a terrifying death. Happy hunting, and may your ghost observations always be precise!
