Day One: Pigeon Forge⛰️
Not much today but we will have so much more tomorrow! I’m exhausted now, time to rest! #pigeonforge #vacation #mountains #gatlinburg #tn
Wow, what a day! After a solid 4-hour drive, we finally made it to Pigeon Forge. We were starving, so our first stop was a quick lunch to refuel before diving into our mountain getaway. Once we checked in, we couldn't resist just walking around and exploring the immediate area, soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. It was so nice to stretch our legs after being in the car for so long. The air here already feels so fresh and inviting! We saw so many interesting places just on our little walk, hinting at all the fun that awaits, and I even spotted a sign that seemed to say "GEON FORGE CURT'S" though I'm not sure what it was, it added to the charm of exploring this new place. Dinner was a classic family choice at Denny's, which totally hit the spot after a long day of travel. While my fiancé and the kids splashed around happily in the pool – a much-needed cool-down after the journey – I snuck off to grab a few snacks for tomorrow's adventures. You know, gotta be prepared! And what a bonus to end the day with such a beautiful sunset right from our balcony! Seriously, the views here are absolutely incredible already, making all that driving totally worth it. Even though Day One was primarily focused on traveling and settling in, our minds are already buzzing with excitement for what's next. We've heard so much about The Island in Pigeon Forge, and it's definitely at the top of our list for tomorrow! Everyone we talked to recommended it as a must-visit spot for families, and I can already see why. From what I’ve gathered, it’s a fantastic hub of activities, with something for everyone. I'm really looking forward to checking out all the unique boutique shops, finding some local treasures, and grabbing another delicious bite at one of the many diverse restaurants. I hear there are some amazing dessert places too, which is always a win in my book! Of course, I can't wait to experience The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. I've seen pictures, and the panoramic views from up there must be breathtaking – perfect for getting a bird's-eye perspective of the beautiful Tennessee landscape. And to top it all off, we're hoping to catch their famous fountain show in the evening. I've heard it's a spectacular display of lights and music, a perfect way to wind down a fun-filled day. It sounds like The Island offers a complete entertainment package, blending relaxation with excitement. This trip is off to a wonderful start, and I have a feeling our visit to The Island will be one of the absolute highlights! Stay tuned for all our adventures there!
