New horse mask?!?! Experimenting with a 3D horse mask! If I am not 100% happy with it I might sell it. #therian #horsetherian #adulttherian #therianmask #maskmaking
Wow, it's been quite the adventure diving into making this new 3D horse therian mask! I really wanted to share a bit more about the process and what goes into creating something that truly feels right. You know, a lot of people mentioned that my previous leather mask could come across as a bit intense or even 'scary' in photos. While I loved it, I also felt it was time to explore something new, something that might better capture the spirit and energy of my theriotype in a different way. That's why I've been experimenting with 3D printing for this new project. It's definitely a learning curve! This mask, in its current state, feels a little goofy to me, but that's part of the fun of the first prototype. It’s exciting to see the shape come to life, and it gives me a solid base to work from. My absolute favorite part of mask making is the customization – truly making it my own. I've been spending so much time thinking about the details, especially the ears and the mane. For the ears, I'm debating between a more realistic, upright horse ear shape or something a bit stylized. And the mane! I'm thinking of adding a flowing, natural-looking mane, perhaps even incorporating a forelock right up here at the top. I'm also considering making the mane detachable so I can swap out different styles or colors depending on my mood or outfit. Another big consideration is comfort and wearability. It’s not just about how it looks, but how it feels when I’m wearing it. I want to make sure it’s light, breathable, and doesn't restrict movement. On my previous masks, I sometimes struggled with my actual hair showing, so for this one, I’m seriously looking into a good neck covering. Whether it’s an extension of the mask itself or a separate piece, I want it to blend seamlessly and provide that full, immersive feel. This kind of detail really helps complete the transformation. When I mentioned I might sell it if I'm not 100% happy, that's genuinely how I feel about my creations. I pour a lot of love into them, and I want them to bring joy to someone else if they don't quite align with my vision. But for now, the goal is to keep refining. I'm thinking about different materials for finishing – maybe some faux fur for texture, or hand-painting to give it a unique sheen. What are your go-to materials for mask details? I'd love to hear some tips! This whole process just reminds me how much creativity and passion goes into the therian community. Every mask tells a story, and I'm so excited for this new chapter with my 3D horse mask. Stay tuned for updates on the customization, and let me know your thoughts on what kind of ears, mane, or neck covering you think would look best!
