SICK OF THIS PLACEEEEE

being a mom, working full time (and more) as a bar manager, and now running karaoke on a slow ass Sunday night AND running the bar? this is why my two weeks got put in.

I’m willing to bet for the 4th shift in a row I’m gonna pay in because there’s not enough money to cover my tips, the till, AND security.

ya know, not like i don’t have bills and shit 🫠#barmanager #aboveexpecation

Many bar managers find themselves working extended hours to cover all operational needs, such as handling tips, cash tills, and security costs. This combination can be overwhelming, particularly when the income from tips isn’t enough to balance the expenses, forcing managers to use their own money for daily operations. For working parents, the pressure intensifies as they strive to meet both job demands and household bills. Running karaoke nights on slow evenings adds another layer of responsibility, requiring multitasking and constant attention. This lifestyle can lead to burnout and decisions to step away from the role temporarily or permanently. It’s important for bar owners and staff to understand the hidden challenges faced by managers who wear multiple hats. Supportive workplace policies, transparent financial practices, and adequate staffing can help reduce the strain. Open dialogue about expectations and realistic workload can improve morale and sustainability. If you’re a bar manager, or in similar roles, consider seeking support networks or professional advice to balance work and personal life better. There are communities and forums online where managers share tips, coping strategies, and approaches to overcoming financial hurdles. Remember, acknowledging these struggles is the first step toward healthier work-life integration and long-term job satisfaction.

Bar managing sounds like chaos. Honestly, I'd probably end up crying in the walk-in fridge every shift 😭.
