My goal was to capture every intricate detail, from her signature facial markings to her iconic green hair. First, let's talk about the makeup, which is crucial for achieving that authentic Maomao face. Her distinctive facial makeup around her right eye is instantly recognizable, so I spent a lot of time perfecting the placement and intensity. I used a dark red liquid eyeliner for precision and layered a matte eyeshadow to give it depth. For her everyday look, I focused on a subtle base, a touch of blush, and a natural lip tint to let her unique markings stand out. It really helps sell the idea that she’s a busy apothecary, not someone overly concerned with glamour, but still possessing a delicate beauty. Then there's the hair – her beautiful, vibrant green hair! I started with a high-quality green wig that had the perfect shade to match the anime. Styling it was an adventure; I carefully trimmed the bangs to frame my face just like hers and worked on creating those subtle waves and layers. Maomao's hairstyle, while seemingly simple, has a certain natural flow that I wanted to replicate. It took some patience with a heat-resistant comb and hairspray, but the result was worth it to get that Maomao Apothecary Diaries hairstyle just right. For the costume, I went for her classic green top with red trim and a flowing red skirt. I paid close attention to the fabric choices to ensure they looked authentic and comfortable, especially since I planned an outdoor photoshoot. Holding the skirt gently and clasping my hands in a respectful gesture were small details that I think added a lot to the overall portrayal.
