🍘 Brew Tea, Grill Snacks

🌸The floral milk tea trend has made its way to JB.

If you’ve heard of tea spots like Amacha, Tea & Ember offers a similar concept, with its own twist.

✨ What to expect:

• Floral & herbal milk tea brewed in a clay pot

• Kept warm over a charcoal grill 🔥

• Grill-your-own snacks served alongside

🍘 Must try: the rice cake. Watch it puff up and crack over the fire - simple but oddly satisfying.

⏳ One thing to note:

The tea takes 20+ minutes to brew, so don’t rush it. Come to slow down, chat and enjoy the experience.

💭 My only gripe?

I wished the floral and herbal notes came through a little stronger. Maybe an even longer brew would do the trick?

... Read moreWhen I first heard about Tea & Ember’s concept of brewing floral and herbal milk tea in a clay pot over charcoal, I was intrigued by the blend of traditional brewing methods with a modern cafe vibe. The slow brewing process — taking more than 20 minutes — really made me appreciate the art of tea-making and gave time to unwind. The heat maintained by the charcoal grill not only kept the tea warm but also created a cozy, ambient experience perfect for catching up with friends. What truly sets this place apart are the grill-your-own snacks served alongside the tea. I tried the rice cake, as recommended, and watching it puff up and crack over the fire was oddly satisfying and fun to participate in. Its simple yet delicious flavor complemented the floral milk tea perfectly, making the experience both interactive and tasty. Although I wished the floral and herbal notes of the tea were a bit stronger, possibly with an even longer brew time, the subtle flavors still offered a soothing taste different from typical milk teas. For tea lovers who enjoy slower, sensory experiences, Tea & Ember is a hidden gem in Johor Bahru worth visiting. If you’re planning a visit, come prepared to relax and enjoy the process rather than rushing. It’s a unique take on the floral milk tea trend blended with vintage elements that evoke a comforting feeling similar to a traditional herbal tea house but with a modern twist. Don’t miss out on pairing your tea with the grilled snacks for a complete and memorable teatime.
