The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Part 1

Are you baking some after 3 hours and then the rest overnight? I never can wait so I surely do! No shame! 🤭

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

• ½ cup light brown sugar

• 1 cup dark brown sugar

• ½ cup white sugar

• 2 sticks butter (melted and cooled)

• 2 eggs (add one at a time)

• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

• 3 cups flour

• ¾ teaspoon baking soda

• ½ teaspoon baking powder

• ½ teaspoon salt

• Chocolate bars, chopped (I use giant Hershey bars — special dark and milk chocolate — and a few blocks of Baker’s semi-sweet, but you can use whatever you love!)

Instructions:

1. In a large bowl, cream together the sugars and butter until smooth.

2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

3. Stir in the vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6. Fold in your chopped chocolate pieces.

7. Cover the dough and refrigerate overnight.

• (If you can’t wait, refrigerate for at least 3 hours before baking a few — you’ll enjoy both versions but notice the difference after the overnight chill!)

8. When ready to bake, preheat your oven to 325°F.

9. Line your cookie sheet with parchment paper.

10. Scoop cookie dough onto the sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes on bottom rack. (My oven does 14 minutes perfect but ovens vary)

11. Once baked, remove the cookie sheet from the oven and firmly place it on the counter to help the cookies flatten and cool perfectly.
