found this RUSSIAN restaurant in sg

found this russian restaurant hidden at far east plaza! it has been around since 1986

𝓼𝓱𝓪𝓼𝓱𝓵𝓲𝓴 offers nostalgic russian and continental inspired cusine which is not commonly found in sg

ive ordered their weekday set lunch menu which is super worth as it comes with a drink, soup and main

i ordered hae bee hiam pasta ($19.50) for main. it is good but the ingredient is only just prawn. flavour is on point but very spicy

i got borshch for soup. it is top with sour cream making the soup super tangy. you can tell that they boil the soup for long as the beef and cabbage is so soft that it can literally melt in your mouth

we also gotten bread and salted egg chicken for starter! please get the bread omg… it is so soft and fluffy. you can dipped it in your soup or eat it with butter

salted egg chicken wing can skip! although the chicken is very soft but the flavour is not there

i also tried fish&chip ($19.50) and hainanese pork chop ($21.80)

out of all i will recommend to get the hainanese pork chop

the hainanese pork chop is served with fried

rice ball! super interesting and even though it is fried pork chop the meat still retain its juiciness

for dessert we got baked alaska ($26). very unique dessert! it is ice cream cake topped with brown meringue. they will then flamed it with dark rum at your table which creates a unique dining experience

The borshch soup, with its long-boiled beef and cabbage, delivers deep flavor enhanced by sour cream — a perfect starter. The soft, fluffy bread is ideal for dipping and is a highlight on its own. If you’re curious about other Russian staples, I recommend trying their signature shashlik (grilled meat skewers), which really captures the hearty flavors of Russian home cooking. The restaurant’s atmosphere also reflects its history, having served customers since 1986, giving you a sense of tradition alongside your meal. For those who prefer something lighter, the fish and chips option is available, while meat lovers shouldn’t miss the Hainanese pork chop — juicy and paired interestingly with a fried rice ball. This blend of different culinary influences makes the experience unique. Don’t miss the dessert — the Baked Alaska is flamed with dark rum right at your table, making for an entertaining and delicious finish. Overall, Shashlik is a great spot for anyone wanting to explore authentic Russian flavors in Singapore, especially those interested in nostalgic and less common dishes within the local food scene.
