What my 9 Month Old Eats

One thing that’s important to me is serving Rome real, nourishing foods and letting him explore new flavors at his own pace. 🤍 We also had his 9-month checkup this week, and hearing he’s in the 87th percentile for weight definitely made me laugh. 😂 Safe to say this growing boy loves to eat! Watching him thrive has been one of my greatest blessings♡

From my experience, offering a variety of textures and flavors, like carrot pasta sauce with pasta shells and green beans, encourages adventurous eating habits early on. I found that preparing leftovers from previous meals, such as steamed vegetables or simple fruit like bananas paired with granola, not only reduces waste but also helps my baby explore different tastes and nutrients without overwhelming him. It's important to watch for signs of readiness and preferences as every baby is unique. Serving real, whole foods rather than processed options aligns with fostering healthy eating habits long term. I also learned that maintaining a flexible approach—allowing him to try foods at his own pace—builds a positive relationship with food. This has helped my baby reach the 87th percentile for weight, an encouraging indicator of healthy growth. Aside from traditional baby cereals, incorporating family meals with modifications suitable for little ones can be beneficial. Foods rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber, such as pureed or finely chopped vegetables and fruits, support development and digestion. Always ensure the foods are safe to prevent choking hazards. My journey has taught me the value of patience and creativity in feeding a 9-month-old. Sharing meals as a family and letting your baby observe and mimic your eating habits also promotes their enthusiasm for diverse, nutritious foods. Overall, real food at this stage lays a solid foundation for lifelong health and wellness.
