... Read moreHey everyone! So many of you are curious about the journey to 1000 subscribers on YouTube, and trust me, it's a huge milestone that feels both exciting and a little daunting! As I get closer, I wanted to share some of my personal insights and what I've learned along this incredible 'road to 1000 subscribers.' When I first started my channel, my main goal was just to share my love for books, especially my monthly 'to be read' lists like my current February TBR. I'd sit there, often surrounded by my beloved bookshelves, trying to figure out how to make my videos engaging. It wasn't just about reading; it was about connecting with other bookworms. I remember those early days, just hoping one person would discover my latest YouTube video and maybe, just maybe, hit that subscribe button. One of the biggest lessons has been consistency. It's not always easy to churn out a 'new video out now!' every week, but showing up regularly, even if it’s just with my latest book haul or a discussion on romance novels, truly makes a difference. People want to know they can count on you for fresh content. I've also found that really leaning into my niche – celebrating diverse voices, especially Black authors, and diving deep into genres like romance – has helped me find my community. There's a real joy in seeing others light up when I recommend a book by an author they might not have discovered otherwise. Engagement is another huge piece of the puzzle. It's not enough to just upload; you have to talk to your audience! I spend time responding to comments, asking questions in my videos, and trying to foster a friendly space. It's those personal connections that turn viewers into loyal subscribers. I love seeing a familiar name pop up in the comments section of a new video. And, of course, there’s the technical side. I'm always learning about improving my lighting, making sure my audio is clear, and even just how to frame myself when I'm holding a stack of books, trying to convey my excitement. While I'm not an expert, I've noticed that clearer visuals and sound definitely help keep people watching. Using relevant keywords in my video titles and descriptions, like 'February TBR' or 'romance book recommendations,' also helps people find my content. This 'road to 1000 subscribers' is more than just a number; it's about building a community of fellow book enthusiasts. Every new subscriber feels like a cheer from a friend on the sidelines. It's what keeps me motivated, especially when I'm planning exciting things like my upcoming pop-up bookshop. It’s all part of the same dream: sharing the magic of books. If you're also on this journey, or just love books, I'd be thrilled if you joined my community. Let's hit that milestone together!
