finally started my junk journal📓🩵

🩵I’ve been wanting to start junk journaling for a while now and I finally started last month! i’m a certified ✨sentamentaholic✨ so I already had a box full of receipts, movie tickets, cards, and other junk journal materials. I’ve only made a few entries so far but i like seeing what page designs I come up with and it’s a great reminder that everything doesn’t have to be and will not be “perfect”. just gotta start putting stuff on the page and it’ll come together exactly as it’s supposed to.

... Read moreOMG, you guys, if you've been eyeing junk journaling like I was, just DO IT! Seriously, I put it off for ages thinking I needed to be super artistic or have all the fancy supplies. But it's so true: it doesn't have to be perfect! My journey has shown me it's all about embracing the beautiful mess of memories and creating something uniquely *you*. When I first started gathering my 'junk journal supplies,' I realized I already had so much! Beyond movie tickets and receipts, think about those little things you usually toss: coffee sleeves from your favorite cafe, pretty packaging from a gift, dried flowers from a special bouquet, even old greeting cards. I even saw some people using travel brochures or old book pages for cool textures. Don't forget about those tiny treasures like alphabet stickers or rose embellishments – they can add so much personality to a page. Colorful tabs are also genius for sectioning off different themes or months, making it easier to revisit those special moments. I found that even a simple personalized journal can become a canvas for so much creativity without needing expensive kits. For beginners, my biggest tip is to just start. Don't stare at a blank page for hours. Grab a few items – maybe a photo, a receipt, and a random sticker – and just arrange them. You can always glue them down later or move things around. I find tearing paper instead of cutting it gives a more organic, 'junk' feel. And don't be afraid to layer! One of my favorite things to do is put down a colorful tab, then a piece of patterned paper, and then write directly on top or add a small picture. It’s all about experimenting. What kind of supplies do you really need? Honestly, not much to begin with. A basic journal or even a sturdy notebook works great. Some glue (a glue stick or clear craft glue is perfect), scissors, and a pen are your essentials. Beyond that, it’s whatever bits and bobs you collect! Think about things like washi tape, stamps, old magazine clippings, fabric scraps, or even just different colored papers. The OCR mentioned alphabet stickers and rose embellishments, which are fantastic for adding small, personal touches. I love using colorful tabs too – they're not just practical for organization but also add a pop of color. The beauty of junk journaling is that it's a reflection of your life, not a showcase for perfection. It’s a space where every crumpled note, every faded ticket, and every little doodle tells a story. It’s been incredibly therapeutic for me to revisit moments and give them a physical home in my journal. It’s a wonderful reminder that art is for everyone, and sometimes the most beautiful creations come from the most unexpected places. So, grab your box of treasures and just begin – you'll be amazed at what you create!
