My Tatoo 🫶

3 years ago (Feb 25) I got my first tatoo at age 46. I'd always wanted a tatto, but could never quite decide on something I'd want to see on this body for my forever.

BUT..... I went and googled "butterfly tattoo" and there it was a screen FULL of beautiful butterflies. I love butterflies and what their life transformation represents. I looked closer, then zoomed in.. "is that a semi colon? 🧐 I mean i know grammer, but the symbolism didn't immediately come to me. I googled "symbolism of semicolon butterfly" and this resonated with me so much.

At this time in my life I survived a narcissitic spouse and was in the avoidance of my mother's death. (transition) This is my mental health reminder:

MY STORY ISNT OVER YET

I have only shared this story with those I love & trusted up until now. On last night, I had to share my story with a colleague to give her permission to FEEL ALL THE HURT AND PAIN BUT TO KEEP SURVIVING, KEEP LIVING and now that you've told a safe person, I want to support you.

She said "Your transparency helps me....."

Life is hard. We can figure it out together. Just survive. Keep Living. Ask for help❤️

... Read moreI've been so touched by how many of you resonated with my story about my semicolon butterfly tattoo! It's truly amazing how a piece of art on our skin can hold such profound personal meaning and connect us with others. When I first started looking, I was specifically drawn to the idea of a butterfly transformation tattoo – something that spoke to growth and change. The journey of a butterfly, from a humble caterpillar to a beautiful, soaring creature, is such a powerful metaphor for life's challenges and the incredible strength we find to overcome them. It's a constant reminder that even after the toughest struggles, there's always potential for new beginnings and radiant beauty. What truly amplified this for me was discovering the semicolon butterfly tattoo. The semicolon, as many of you know, is a symbol adopted by Project Semicolon, representing a pause where an author could have ended a sentence but chose to continue. Merging this with the butterfly's symbolism creates such a potent message of mental health and survival. It's a beautiful declaration that despite facing immense difficulties – whether it's battling depression, anxiety, trauma, or navigating profound personal losses – you've chosen to continue your story. It’s a mark of resilience, a visual pledge to yourself that your journey isn't over. I've heard so many stories from others who've chosen this design, and every single one is a testament to incredible courage and the choice to continue one's story despite challenges. Many of you also asked about small butterfly hand tattoos or minimalist butterfly tattoo designs. I understand why these are so popular! A small, elegantly placed tattoo, especially on the hand, can be incredibly discreet yet powerful. The image from the OCR shows a prominent semicolon butterfly tattoo on the back of the hand, which is exactly what many people envision. You can opt for a simple outline of a butterfly, perhaps with a tiny semicolon subtly integrated into its wing or body. Or, a simple small butterfly tattoo design, maybe just a silhouette flying upwards, can represent hope and ascent from difficult times. For those seeking a tiny butterfly hand tattoo minimalist style, fine-line work creates a delicate, almost ethereal look that still carries immense weight. The beauty is that even a very small design can carry profound meaning and serve as that intimate, personal reminder. When considering a tattoo like this, especially one with such deep personal significance, I've learned a few things. First, really sit with the design. Does it truly resonate with your personal journey of growth, transformation, and survival? Look at different styles – do you prefer realism, abstract, or a more traditional look? Also, don't rush the placement. The hand is visible and serves as a constant personal reminder, but other areas can be just as meaningful. Finally, finding an artist who understands the depth of your chosen symbol is crucial. Someone who can translate your emotional journey into a beautiful, lasting piece of art that truly reflects your mental health and survival story. This isn't just ink; it's a part of you, a permanent chapter mark in your incredible story.

A 5 day 40 hour work week is too long
I’ve been working a “real job” for nearly 4 years and I think that 5/40 is too long. You start your day at 6am and your time is not your own until 5pm or so. Then you have to be asleep by 10pm, because of the whole up-at-6 thing. Does it suck as bad as 18 hours in a coal mine? Obviously not,

You’re never too broken, to dirty, or too sinful.
The woman at the well was broken. She wasn’t someone many in her time would have associated with. She had been married 5 times and the man she was living with wasn’t one of those 5 husbands. She was a Samaritan. Jesus was a Jew. They weren’t supposed to associate with one another. Yet Jesu
