Peach Pepper Jelly is a staple in a southern household🍑🌶️✨
Here’s how you make it 📝
🍑 2 lbs peaches, peeled, pitted & chopped however you like (about 4 cups)
🌶️ 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
🍑 Jalapeños (I used 4 from my garden, the jelly won’t be spicy with that amount, add more for more spice)
🌶️ 1 cup apple cider vinegar
🍑 1/4 cup FRESH SQUEEZED lemon juice
🌶️ 1 pkg Sure-Jell (1.75 oz)
🍑 3 cups granulated sugar
Since we didn’t can these, let the peaches and peppers cook down a little. I like mine chunky so I left my peach pieces big! 😋 Once soft, add the lemon juice, vinegar, and pectin. Bring to a boil. Once boiling add your sugar. I cooked mine for 10 min then poured into a warm jar (if your jar is cold, it could crack!!)

Peach Pepper Jelly is a beloved condiment that beautifully balances sweetness with a mild spiciness, making it a versatile addition to a variety of dishes. This recipe features Sure-Jell Premium Fruit Pectin, a key ingredient recognized for its ability to help jams and jellies set properly, ensuring the perfect jelly consistency every time. When making this jelly, it’s essential to start with ripe, juicy peaches peeled and pitted to deliver a rich fruit flavor. The combination of red bell peppers and fresh jalapeños adds both color and a gentle heat that can be adjusted to your preference—using more jalapeños for a spicier kick. Apple cider vinegar and fresh squeezed lemon juice not only provide acidity that balances the sweetness but also act as natural preservatives. Cooking the peach and pepper mixture down before adding the pectin helps achieve the desired chunky texture while releasing natural juices. Bringing the mixture to a boil and adding granulated sugar and pectin according to Sure-Jell instructions is the critical step to set the jelly correctly. For best results, warming jars before pouring in hot jelly prevents cracking and helps create a vacuum seal. This jelly pairs wonderfully with cream cheese and crackers, grilled meats, or as a flavorful spread for sandwiches. Homemade Peach Pepper Jelly not only captures the essence of Southern culinary traditions but also allows for personalization, whether that’s leaving peaches chunky or tweaking spice levels. It’s a fantastic recipe to make during peach season and can be shared as a thoughtful gift or stored for a delightful treat all year round.
