Solo trip to Iceland | Blue Lagoon
Go head and add iceland to your list. A couple years ago I was just searching for flights when I couldn’t sleep and they resulted in a $304 non stop flight to Iceland and I went SOLO!
I had an amazing relaxing time and hope to go back because I didn’t get a change to snowboarding it was a storm on the glacier.
But add it to your bucket list! #iceland #bluelagoon
So, you're thinking about visiting the Blue Lagoon alone? Let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Getting there was surprisingly easy – I just hopped on one of the dedicated buses from KeflavÃk airport, which drops you right at the entrance. It felt surprisingly smooth, even with my luggage, and I didn't feel awkward at all. Arriving at the Blue Lagoon, any initial nerves about being by myself vanished instantly. The whole place is designed for relaxation, and honestly, everyone is just doing their own thing, whether in groups or enjoying some quiet solitude. Once inside, after navigating the well-organized changing rooms and securing my belongings in a locker, I stepped into those incredible milky blue waters. It was pure bliss. While some people were in groups, I found it incredibly liberating to just float, apply a silica mud mask (don't miss this!), grab a drink from the swim-up bar, and simply soak it all in. There was no need to worry about anyone else's schedule or preferences. I saw some amazing sights, including a woman rocking a cool zebra print swimsuit! It truly felt like a luxurious spa treatment, a perfect escape from everyday life. Remember to hydrate and condition your hair before and after entering the geothermal waters to protect it. For fellow solo travelers eyeing the Blue Lagoon, here are my top tips: First, book your tickets well in advance! It gets incredibly busy, and you don't want to miss out. Second, don't worry about feeling awkward; many people go alone or are just focused on their own relaxation. Third, definitely bring a waterproof phone case if you want to capture some memories – I got some great selfies, even relaxing in my white bathrobe! Fourth, consider staying at a nearby hotel if you have an early flight or want to be close to the lagoon; it makes getting there much easier. And finally, embrace the solitude. It’s a rare chance to truly unwind and connect with yourself amidst stunning Icelandic beauty. While the Blue Lagoon was a highlight, don’t forget to explore a bit more of Iceland as a solo traveler. ReykjavÃk is incredibly safe and easy to navigate alone, with plenty of cozy cafes and interesting museums. As for finding those incredible flight deals, my trick is to be flexible with dates and consider flying during the off-season. I found my flight late at night when I couldn't sleep, and sometimes those random searches pay off big time! It’s totally possible to do Iceland on a budget, especially if you plan ahead and don't mind embracing some solo adventures.
