Returning To God✨
Hey friends,
I’ve been a little MIA for a while.
Not because I had everything figured out. Not because I was off on some magical healing journey. Honestly, life happened, and somewhere along the way I became disconnected—from myself, from my purpose, and most importantly, from God.
Lately, I’ve been feeling a strong pull back toward Him. Not because I’ve suddenly become perfect, but because I’m realizing how much I’ve been trying to carry on my own.
I’ve spent a lot of time scrolling, surviving, working, worrying, and distracting myself. But when everything gets quiet, I can’t ignore the fact that my spirit feels hungry.
So this is me reintroducing myself.
I’m Ty—a mom, an EMT, a woman still figuring things out, and someone who is choosing to seek God again, even when I don’t have all the answers.
If you’ve been feeling distant from God, struggling to pray, questioning your faith, or just feeling spiritually disconnected, you’re not alone. Maybe this season isn’t about having it all together. Maybe it’s simply about coming back.
I’m not here as an expert. I’m here as someone who’s starting over.
Here’s to reconnecting, growing, and being honest about the journey.
Have you ever gone through a season where you felt disconnected from God?
As someone who has personally experienced seasons of spiritual disconnection, I deeply resonate with the journey of feeling distant from God and the desire to return. Life’s challenges—whether it's the relentless pace of daily responsibilities, unexpected hardships, or simply getting caught in the distraction of social media—can slowly pull us away from our spiritual center. What helped me during those tough times was embracing the honesty of my feelings rather than pretending everything was perfect. I found freedom in acknowledging that returning to God isn’t about having all the answers but being willing to seek Him despite imperfections. One practice that supported my reconnection was setting aside quiet moments to 'be still' as Psalm 46:10 encourages. Even just a few minutes a day of silence and intentional prayer helped me hear God's voice more clearly and feel His presence. I also leaned on scripture that reminded me God is not finished with my story, and His grace is new every morning. Incorporating simple daily rituals, like journaling my prayers or gratitude, fueled my faith and healing over time. Another key part of this process was realizing I wasn’t alone—many people experience spiritual dryness or doubt. Engaging with a supportive community, whether in-person or online, created a safe space for sharing struggles and encouragement. Knowing others were on similar journeys made me feel less isolated. Lastly, I learned the importance of patience with myself and the journey. Spiritual healing and reconnection is a process, not an instant fix. It’s about walking step-by-step, allowing God to restore and realign your soul according to His purpose. Just like the author mentioned, it’s a new chapter fueled by faith, healing, and a choice to come back, even when we don’t have it all figured out. If you’re feeling spiritually disconnected, take heart—this season isn’t about perfection. It’s about willingness, honesty, and allowing God to lead you back to your true self and purpose. Your story of reconnection can be one of hope, renewal, and empowerment.
