... Read moreWow, what a whirlwind of emotions this finals season has been! I just had to share the incredible relief of passing my Health Assessment final. That feeling? Absolutely priceless. When you're deep in the trenches of nursing school, it often feels like an uphill battle, and believe me, 'NURSING SCHOOL IS TOUGH' is an understatement. There are moments when you wonder how anyone gets through it all, and those thoughts about 'how many people pass nursing school' definitely creep in. For me, getting through this first major hurdle was a huge confidence booster. It wasn't just about memorizing facts; it was about truly understanding the material and being able to apply it. One thing that really helped me was breaking down the study material into manageable chunks. Instead of looking at a mountain of information, I'd focus on one chapter or one system at a time. I also found that active recall, like using flashcards or quizzing myself, was far more effective than just passively reading my textbooks. Those late nights with my laptop, surrounded by my nursing textbooks, really paid off. Seeing 'Finals!!!' constantly on my screen was a reminder of the pressure, but also the goal. Another huge factor in 'Staying motivated' has been my study routine. I try to stick to a consistent schedule, even on weekends, to avoid cramming. And honestly, finding a good study group has been a lifesaver. Being able to bounce ideas off each other, explain concepts, and even just vent about the stress makes a world of difference. When you're all in it together, it somehow feels a little less daunting. The mental game during finals is just as important as the academic one. I've learned to take short breaks, step away from the desk, and do something completely unrelated to nursing, even if it's just for 15 minutes. Self-care isn't a luxury; it's a necessity, especially when 'nursing school finals coming up!' is your new mantra. Fueling your body with good food and getting enough sleep, as hard as it sounds, truly impacts your performance. As I gear up for my Fundamentals final, I'm taking all these lessons with me. It’s not just about getting a grade; it’s about building the foundation to become a competent and compassionate nurse. To all my fellow nursing students out there who are wondering if they can make it, or if they'll be among those who pass – you absolutely can. Keep pushing, keep learning, and remember why you started this journey. We are all in this together, and every small victory, like passing a final, is a huge step towards that dream RN title. Wishing everyone the best of luck!
