How to start your UGC portfolio with no work✨

You want to start UGC but everyone is telling you to create your portfolio with your work right? But than you realize you have no work to show…so how do you even create a portfolio? Here is what I would do if I were to start UGC right now

✨Create your intro page – Put at least one picture of yourself, your name and what you do (ex: I have ugc creator) and than add your email at the bottom for easy contact.

✨Your work page – This will consist of content you make on your own if you really have no experience at all. You can use products around your house, or if you are willing to buy products from brands you like and create your own content you can do that too. Write out your own scripts, your own videos and create at least 4-8 videos to add on there. Create different types of videos to show a variety! Also take some photos as well to add too it!

✨About you page and contact page – You can add a little about you section and then add all your contact information so you can easily be contacted. You can also add any socials you’d like for them to see!

... Read moreHey fellow aspiring UGC creator! I totally get how overwhelming it feels when you're ready to dive into user-generated content but feel stuck because you have no 'official' work to show. I was in the same boat when I first started, constantly searching for 'UGC portfolio examples for beginners' and wondering how to even begin creating a 'UGC creator website.' But here's the secret: you don't need fancy brand deals to build an impressive portfolio. It's all about demonstrating your potential! When you're creating content with products around your house, think of yourself as a mini creative agency. Don't just show the product; tell a story. For instance, if you're showcasing a skincare product, film a short, engaging routine. Use your smartphone – it's incredibly powerful! I always recommend investing in a small tripod (just like in that image where someone records themselves) for stable shots and good lighting. Natural light near a window works wonders, or a simple ring light can elevate your video quality dramatically. Focus on clear audio too; nobody wants to watch a great video with muffled sound. For your 'work page', remember to create a diverse range of content. Don't just do unboxing videos. Try a 'how-to' tutorial, a 'day in the life' showing product integration, or even an aesthetic lifestyle shot. Aim for short, punchy videos that grab attention within the first few seconds. And yes, those 'video content thumbnails' on your portfolio display are crucial – they're like mini billboards! Make them visually appealing and clear. Regarding the 'About You' page, this is your chance to shine and let your personality come through. Instead of just listing facts, share your passion for storytelling, your unique perspective, or what kind of brands you'd love to work with. Think about what makes you a great fit for UGC. This is also where you can subtly integrate aspects of your lifestyle, much like seeing a 'name coffee' on a login screen – it adds a touch of authenticity to your personal brand without being overtly promotional. Make sure your 'email address' for contact is professional and easy to find, as that's your direct line to potential collaborations. Finally, don't overthink the platform for your portfolio. Many successful creators start with free tools like Canva, Google Sites, or even a dedicated Instagram highlight. The important thing is that it's easy to navigate, showcases your best work, and clearly communicates your value as a UGC creator. Remember, every piece of content you create, even if it's just for practice, is building your skills and demonstrating your capability. Keep practicing, keep creating, and your dream UGC career will be within reach!
