winter skin repair after a day outside ❄️

As someone that deals with redness and oily/combo skin, these are my skin repair essentials for the winter season!

🫧 Hydrating Toner: An absolute non-negotiable for me is a good, nourishing toner! I use this after I cleanse my skin to return the hydration and add a long-lasting glow ✨

* an alternative: Toner Pads

- I sometimes use these as sheet masks for extra nourishment!

🧴 Moisturizer: A must regardless, but especially during winter to keep my hydration sealed with peptides!

☀️ Sunscreen: Even if the sun isn't visibly out, we still need protection from UV rays so I always apply sunscreen, especially because it gives my skin extra glow!

💋 Lip Balm: My lips crack so easily in the wintertime so I always keep a thick lip balm on to keep my lips juicy and hydrated!

... Read moreWinter weather can be harsh on the skin, especially when you spend a whole day outdoors. I've noticed that cold air, wind, and fluctuating temperatures can quickly strip moisture from my combination skin, making redness and dryness more apparent. To combat this, I always start with a gentle, hydrating toner right after cleansing to replenish moisture and prep my skin for better product absorption. Using toner pads as mini sheet masks a few times a week really gives my skin an extra boost of nourishment and helps reduce irritation. Locking in hydration is crucial in winter, so choosing a moisturizer rich in peptides has been a game changer for me. Peptides support skin barrier repair, which is often compromised by cold exposure. I’ve also learned not to skip sunscreen even on overcast days—UV rays can still damage skin and worsen redness. Applying sunscreen not only protects but also adds a subtle glow that brightens dull winter skin. Chapped lips are another winter woe I face regularly. Keeping a thick, nourishing lip balm handy prevents painful cracks and keeps my lips soft and hydrated throughout the day. Finally, I always make sure to adjust my skincare routine seasonally, listening to what my skin needs the most—hydration, barrier repair, or protection. If you struggle with winter skin sensitivity or redness like I do, these simple yet effective steps can help you maintain healthy, glowing skin all season long. Remember, consistency is key, and using the right products for your skin type makes all the difference.
