... Read moreI'm all about finding budget-friendly skincare boosters, especially during Chicago's brutal winter when my skin goes from dry to downright irritated real quick. When I first spotted these collagen gelatin shots priced at $1.25, I was hopeful. Collagen supplements usually come in drinks or powders, so a gelatin shot seemed like a fun, easy way to get a dose of skin goodness on the go. However, my excitement quickly faded after the first bite. The flavor was overwhelming—like a body spray or strong perfume trapped in a gelatin cup. It was weirdly artificial, not at all what I expected from a collagen product. Despite the initial disappointment, I committed to finishing the packs I bought because wasting products isn’t my style. From my experience, collagen gelatin shots might not be the best pick if you’re sensitive to strong artificial flavors or want something pleasant to consume daily. Since collagen peptides taste mild or neutral in other forms, this perfume-like taste really stood out in a negative way. If you’re looking to increase collagen intake this winter, consider alternatives like collagen powders that blend well with smoothies, or collagen drinks that have more natural fruit flavors. Also, ingredients like biotin and probiotics, which some collagen products include, work nicely alongside collagen for overall skin health—but the delivery method and flavor matter more than you might think! Ultimately, while this product was cheap, the flavor made it impossible for me to recommend. For anyone battling dry, winter-affected skin like me, it’s worth exploring collagen options that are both effective and enjoyable to consume. Don’t sacrifice taste for convenience—your skin and taste buds will thank you!
