Call me the Customer Service Queen 👸🏾

Regular Girl with BIG Aspirations ✨
If you were to tell me 5 years ago that I would’ve been working a 9-5 (well 8:00am to 6:30) job at a call center… I would’ve tried to make a change then! 🫠 Birthday was last week Tuesday (Happy Birthday to me 🥳) and when I tell you I cried my eyes OUT, you would’ve thought it was the end of the work.
When I was younger I always thought I would have it all together by 25… years later I’m 28 and still trying to figure it out 😂 . Baby me envisioned myself being successful, famous, traveling married and taking care of my 2 kids and dog by this time. At least I got the dog out the way. When I graduated college I pictured everything being a cake walk after that because I GOT A WHOLE BACHELORS DEGREE you know!?! Little did I know the goal post moved about 50 yards.
I’m good at what I do but mannnn customer service is not for the weak. Almost feels like modern day slavery how a lot of these people treat you 🤦🏾♀️. Dealing with being belittled on a daily, hearing people just complain or simply tired of hearing the phone ringing… I pray to God daily to free me from this. I’m grateful that I have a Job that pays my bills (and for my therapist) but I just genuinely want more in life when it comes to my career. I keep a note on my desk to remind me that the BEST has yet to come. I just want to know WHEN exactly 😭.
So basically in short lol here I am. Trying to take this content stuff seriously. Hopefully it takes me somewhere because this 9-5 life is just not it! Going to get back to YouTube since America wants to take away TikTok and just pray for the best. If you’re reading this AND made it to the end hope you enjoy the ride. It’s gonna be a good and long one lol but I’m happy to do it together 🫶🏾
Side note : My mom bought my co-workers and I some cookies today. She’s the sweetest! 🥰 🍪

Customer service roles can often be overwhelming, but they can also serve as a powerful foundation for personal growth and career development. Many individuals in customer service experience the tension between their aspirations and their current realities, as demonstrated in this narrative. The trajectory of a customer service career can often lead to valuable skills such as effective communication, problem-solving, and resilience. Furthermore, it’s important to acknowledge the emotional labor involved in these positions. Studies show that working in customer service requires not only managing one’s own emotions but also responding to the emotional states of customers. Therefore, self-care practices are essential for maintaining mental health. It’s great to see a focus on seeking therapy and recognizing the importance of support systems, like family and friends, in navigating these challenges. In addition, leveraging social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube can be effective for those looking to transition away from traditional employment. These platforms offer an opportunity for creativity and self-expression while potentially building a following and income. Sharing one’s story can inspire others facing similar challenges and amplify voices, particularly within marginalized communities. As you embark on this journey, remember that success is measured in many ways—it’s not only about traditional milestones like wealth or fame, but also about finding fulfillment and joy in the present moment. Keep striving, stay connected with your support network, and believe that the best is yet to come.
