grwm!: going to my specialist
i started my day by getting dressed!
👚 random black tank top from target
🩳 ribbed lounge shorts from target
👟 fleece lined vans slides
+ oversized black hoodie i thrifted
i went in knowing i would be receiving an abdominal x-ray, so i dressed accordingly. usually when you get an x-ray you strip down to your undies and are made to wear just the gown. i’ve learned that if you’re wearing clothing like cotton shorts or leggings- basically anything without buttons or clasps or those metal tag thingies- you can keep your bottoms on. ofc my tank top, sports bra, and belly ring had to go. but i was able to remain mostly clothed.
my skin routine was basic:
🫧 washed my face with cold water
🧴 applied rosehip seed oil to a still damp face
👄 applied the laneige lip mask as a balm
the facility i go to is basically a hospital environment without any inpatient wings. it’s super cold and dry regardless of what time of the year it is. i almost forewent my skin care today, but then i recalled how cold it was and decided to moisturize with an oil.
breakfast was quick and easy:
🧇 kodiak butter and vanilla waffles
🥤 milo’s lemonade with a 1/4 scoop of OxyGreens
2/3 of my medications curb my appetite so i really did not feel like eating, but i never know how long i’ll be at this appointment. i could be there for 20 minutes or 2 hours. i just never know.
the verdict???
i’m kidney stone free! my x-ray looked perfect and we decided i would come back in two years instead of next year. i’ve officially gone 1 year without a kidney infection/UTI, 3 years without getting admitted to the hospital, and 5 years without passing a kidney stone large enough to cause damage. this is the longest i have ever went IN. MY. ENTIRE. 23. YEARS without having any renal issues! go me !!!!

Remember, being well-prepared with the right food can help you manage the unpredictability of your waiting time, enhancing your overall experience.
