I personally love Pumpkin the most. I really want to try to make my own pumpkin pie but I fear I will burn the heck out of it. I’m not one that is good in the kitchen.
I am not the biggest fan of apple pie or really any other pie.
What kinds of pies do you guys like? Do you make it yourself at home or store buy it?
... Read moreOkay, so like many of you, I have my absolute go-to pie – for me, it's pumpkin pie, especially with a generous dollop of whipped cream on top! There's just something about that spiced, creamy filling that screams comfort. But honestly, as much as I adore my favorite, the world of pies is incredibly vast and delicious, and thinking about all the different types of pie out there makes me want to bake (or at least try baking!) even more.
When we talk about different kinds of pie, it's fun to break them down. You've got your classic Fruit Pies, which are probably what most people first think of. Beyond the famous apple pie (which, full disclosure, isn't my personal favorite, but I totally get the appeal!), there are so many other amazing ones. Imagine a vibrant cherry pie with its sweet-tart filling bursting through a golden, flaky crust, or a juicy peach pie, perfect for summer. Berry pies, like blueberry or mixed berry, are also incredible, often with a lovely lattice top. These are usually made with a double crust, giving you that satisfying bite of pastry with every forkful.
Then there are the indulgent Cream Pies. Oh, these are a whole different level of deliciousness! Think rich chocolate cream pie, smooth banana cream pie, or tropical coconut cream pie. These typically feature a graham cracker or cookie crust, a thick, pudding-like filling, and are almost always crowned with a mountain of fresh whipped cream or a fluffy meringue. They're usually chilled and are perfect for a lighter, yet still decadent, dessert.
And of course, we can't forget Custard Pies. This is where my beloved pumpkin pie shines! Sweet potato pie is a close cousin, offering a similar, comforting texture with its own unique flavor profile. And who could resist a classic pecan pie? That gooey, nutty filling is just divine, especially when served warm. These pies often have a single crust and a smooth, baked filling that sets beautifully.
While I haven't ventured into making many different types of pies myself – my kitchen adventures usually end with a smoke alarm – I’m always so impressed by those who do! For anyone, like me, who fears burning their pie, remember that practice makes perfect, and there are so many simple recipes out there. Just starting with a store-bought crust can make the process less intimidating. And honestly, whether you bake it yourself or pick up a gorgeous pie from a local bakery, enjoying a slice of pie is a pure joy.
What are some of your favorite pie flavors? Have you tried any unique ones lately? I’d love to hear about your best pie experiences, whether it’s a family recipe you cherish or a hidden gem you found at a cafe. Maybe you even have tips for a novice baker like me who dreams of perfecting my own pumpkin pie creation (without setting off the fire alarm!). Let's share our pie passion!
Oof this is such a hard question because I love pie! Pumpkin pie is definitely my favorite in the fall. In the summer I think strawberry is my favorite!
I don’t really know if this is the actual name for it but my grandma makes this thing called chess pie and it’s basically pecan pie without the pecans but It’s soooo good
