Easy & quick strawberry dessert!
I had a ton of strawberries and marshmallows and needed something easy to do with them. I decided to make an easy dessert with them to put on top of my ice cream!
Ingredients:
- Fresh strawberries (2-3 cups, sliced)
- Mini marshmallows (1/2-1 cup)
- Vanilla ice cream or whatever you prefer
Optional Ingredients:
- 1-2 tbsp of sugar OR honey
- 1/2 tsp vanilla (I opted for this!)
- Tiny pinch of salt
Recipe directions:
1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
2) Prep your strawberries. Wash and slice them! You can slice them in halves or quarters.
3) Add the sliced strawberries to a small baking dish in one even layer.
4) Here’s where you can have your optional flavor boost. You can do this step or opt to skip.
- Sprinkle 1-2 tbsp sugar or drizzle honey
- Add 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Add a tiny pinch of salt (this will make them sweeter)
5) Bake uncovered for 15 minutes. You want your strawberries to be soft, have juice pooling at the bottom, and have a slightly jam look. You do not want them to be or look mushy.
6) After 15 minutes, pull dish out. Sprinkle marshmallows evenly across the top. Don’t mound them too thick.
7) Switch the oven to broil and place the dish on the upper rack. Broil for 30-60 seconds. Watch them constantly! You don’t want to burn them!
8) Pull the dish out when marshmallows are puffy, light golden on top, and just starting to melt together.
9) Let the dish sit for 2 minutes. It’s going to be VERY hot.
Now enjoy some ice cream with the strawberry marshmallow dessert on top! Or enjoy it on its own. I did both. 🙂↕️
I love this recipe because it’s tasty and doesn’t take too long to make!
