Joe Kent says he has resigned as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, saying he cannot support the ongoing war with Iran.
In a letter to President Trump, Kent wrote that Iran posed no imminent threat to the United States and claimed the war began after pressure from Israel and its allies.
Kent warned the conflict could cost American lives and said he stepped down because he could not support sending Americans to fight in a war he believes does not benefit the country.
