Hot Takes Mom Edition: Unpopular Opinions
Hey. It’s me again with my unpopular opinions. 😅 I am a mom that stands boldly against most of those old school stereotypes. I also enjoy parenting my way and couldn’t care less about what others think about it. So ready or not here is a detailed explanation below. 🧡
*Boys can play with kitchens and dolls
Wonder why some men today lack basic home skills and nurturing qualities. Welcome the idea that men can cook, clean and care for the babies as well. I’m raising well rounded boys.
*Boys will be boys
No my boys will grow in to black men therefore they will be respectful and behave like young men in the making.
*Let those boys cry
Boys have emotions just like girls have emotions. Don’t invalidate their feelings just because of their gender. I let my boys know that their tears are ok but they also have to be able to identify and explain those feelings in order for me to try to help.
*Boys are not easier than Girls or vice versa. They both bring their own challenges to the table. If you think one is easier than the other maybe reevaluate the way you look at things.
*Girls are not weaker than boys
Girls can be just as tough, if not tougher in different situations. She will never consider herself less than because of her gender.
Girly girl or Tomboy? She’s neither and I’ve never liked throwing those labels on girls. My daughter does a little bit of everything.
*Good Girl. I’m not raising a girl who is passive and quiet. I’m raising a girl who will grow into a woman who speaks up, asks questions and is not afraid to ruffle a couple feathers for the good of herself and others.
*Beauty & Brains. My baby girl is beautiful and she doesn’t need anyone to tell her so. She also knows that it’s what’s inside that really matters for her as well as others.
