This was really simple

... Read moreYou know those days when you or your family just feel a bit run down? That’s exactly when I reach for this incredible homemade Starbucks Medicine Ball dupe! It’s become my secret weapon, especially during cold and flu season. The original Starbucks Honey Citrus Mint Tea, often called the “Medicine Ball,” is legendary for its comforting, soothing power, and I truly believe my at-home version is just as good, if not better, because I can tweak it perfectly for my taste. Making "Medicine Ball At Home" is surprisingly simple, and you likely have most of the ingredients already. The magic really comes from the blend of specific teas and fresh additions. For the tea base, I always go for Teavana Peach Tranquility and a good quality mint tea, like Bigelow Mint Medley. The peach tea brings such a lovely, calming sweetness, while the mint tea adds a refreshing, clearing sensation that feels amazing when your sinuses are a bit congested. Together, they create a harmonious flavor profile that’s incredibly comforting. Beyond the teas, the stars are definitely the fresh lemon juice and honey. I always use the juice from half a fresh lemon; it adds a bright, zesty kick and a boost of vitamin C, which we all know is great for colds. And honey? Oh, honey is essential! Not only does it sweeten the tea beautifully, but its natural soothing properties are fantastic for a scratchy or sore throat. I find that a couple of generous spoonfuls really do the trick. You can adjust the amount of honey to your liking – sometimes I add a little extra if my throat is particularly sore. When I’m making this, I just steep one bag of Teavana Peach Tranquility and one bag of Bigelow Mint Medley in a mug of freshly steamed (or very hot) water. After a few minutes, I remove the tea bags, stir in the lemon juice and honey until dissolved, and give it a quick taste. My daughter, for instance, prefers hers a little cooler, so I often pop in two ice cubes for her right away. It’s all about making it just right for whoever is drinking it. This tea isn't just about the taste; it's about the feeling! The warmth of the tea, the comforting aroma, and the soothing ingredients really help to ease cold symptoms. It feels like a warm hug in a mug. I’ve found it’s incredibly effective for calming a cough, alleviating a sore throat, and just generally making you feel more cozy and relaxed when you're under the weather. It’s my absolute favorite "herbal tea with honey lemon cozy" remedy. Try it next time you need a little pick-me-up or are battling a pesky cold – you won't regret it!

I wish teavana didn’t sell out to starbs -don’t get me wrong, I love me some starbs. But they used to have loose leaf tea and it was so so good. So many great varieties and now you can’t get any :(
