caterer served BEEF to my buddhists guest?! 😡

🚩RED FLAG VENDOR ALERT 🚩

how bad is it if one were to serve beef instead of mutton? well to put things into perspective, its just like serving PORK but the label says HALAL. the lack of accountability and remorse from the vendor is outrageous.

there were more issues that happened on the wedding day which ill make in another post.

___________

❗️this post is my honest account of our personal experience. im speaking up to create awareness for future couples ❗️i am sharing my experience as i believe every future couple deserves to know the truth before making a really expensive decision for their big day.

i hope my story sheds some light on the kind of values that this vendor does not uphold.

we were just another couple to them, just another wedding to execute. but to us? THEY were our vendor that we trusted for our ONE AND ONLY wedding.

refunds or compensation wont change the past. my wedding day is over and done.

what i want now is to see change and improvements for future couples bcos why is it that i still have ex-brides sharing their wedding horror stories with me from the same vendor?

how is it that nothing has changed?

ive kept silent for 9 months since my wedding because speaking up felt so mentally draining esp after the overwhelming emotions that day. i thought ill get over it quietly and the issue could be handled privately.

the moment i found out that they have made no improvements and that i wasnt alone in feeling this way, i knew i had enough of the silence.

im speaking up so that NO ONE will waste their money on final products and services that dont match the value of their high price.

spending $xx, 000 on a wedding package, only to be treated badly while the vendor gets away without accountability is unfair.

to every ex bride who has gone through similar pain, please speak up! some of you have told me your stories, and i say let it be heard! enough is enough.

... Read moreFrom my experience, it’s crucial to thoroughly communicate your specific dietary requirements with your wedding caterer and ensure all dishes are correctly labelled, especially for guests with religious or cultural food restrictions. Despite our clear order for mutton biryani, beef was served without any indication, which caused unintended discomfort and guilt for both hosts and guests. I’ve learned the importance of following up regularly before the event to confirm that the final menu matches your expectations and is understood by the catering team. Mistakes like menu substitutions or late changes without notice can ruin a special day. Also, consider requesting a detailed tasting session and final confirmation closer to the event date to catch any discrepancies. Document all communications with your vendor—this can be helpful if you need to request accountability or compensation later. If something does go wrong, don’t hesitate to speak up. Finding solidarity with other couples who faced similar issues can help create pressure for catering vendors to improve their standards and practices. For future couples, I also recommend exploring halal-certified catering companies with good reputations and verified reviews, especially if you need to accommodate diverse guest needs. Transparency, professionalism, and respect for dietary laws should never be optional, and your wedding vendor should prioritize this above all. Lastly, wedding planning is stressful enough without these problems, so prioritize vendors who demonstrate clear communication, timely responses, and respect for your choices. Protect your big day by doing your due diligence early.

Caterings that are great apart from Neo Garden
I like Neo Garden and it has always been my top choice even for my house warming. But I had to spent $35 per pax for a menu that I like. Normally premium buffet selections are higher price tiers. So, I started looking out for other caterers and tried them out. Among all those I've tried
