不把糖尿病当一回事,后果有多严重。#独刚 #糖尿病#uncle dockong
From my personal experience, I’ve seen how diabetes can silently cause damage if not taken seriously. Many people think it’s just about high blood sugar, but it’s actually a slow, progressive disease that affects many parts of your body. For instance, I knew someone who didn’t monitor their sugar levels well, and eventually, their eyesight deteriorated significantly. High blood sugar can damage the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, leading from blurry vision to even blindness if untreated. This was heartbreaking because many avoid regular eye check-ups, not realizing the early signs. Additionally, diabetes can quietly harm your kidneys, which are vital for detoxifying your body every day. If high blood sugar persists, kidney function gradually declines, sometimes necessitating dialysis. This was new information to me, but the more I researched, the clearer it became how important kidney health is. Feet should never be neglected either. Poor blood circulation caused by diabetes results in wounds that heal slowly or not at all. Minor cuts can turn into severe infections, sometimes requiring amputation. I remember reading stories where people lost toes or even entire feet because they ignored foot care. Another critical danger is the increased risk of heart attacks and strokes—diabetes significantly raises these risks. Many don’t realize that dying suddenly from a related complication is more common than from the diabetes itself. Last but not least, nerve damage leads to numbness in hands and feet, so severe that you might not feel injuries occurring, which adds to the danger. All these points emphasize the importance of managing diabetes proactively. Regular checkups, blood sugar control, healthy lifestyle changes, and early care can protect you from these life-altering consequences. Don’t wait until symptoms worsen; being informed and vigilant is the best defense against diabetes complications.
