I used to spend countless hours rehearsing potential problems that often never even occurred, which made me miss out on enjoying calm and quiet moments right in front of me. Sharing your feelings, especially the ones you feel ashamed of, can release a huge burden. Talking openly about what’s on your mind creates space for healing and reminds you that a bad day doesn’t define your entire life. I also found it helpful to remember that thoughts are not facts. Our minds can create scary 'truths' that feel overwhelming but writing these thoughts down helps me see them as just that—thoughts, not reality. Using a journaling app or simply jotting notes can be grounding and clarify perspective. A powerful reminder is acknowledging how resilient you are. You’ve survived every difficult day so far, which is a testament to your strength and perseverance—it’s not luck but your own courageous effort. Finally, practicing self-compassion is crucial. I had to learn to stop the harsh self-talk because I would never speak so unkindly to a friend. Treating ourselves with kindness can profoundly impact our mental well-being. Remember, it’s okay to have tough moments; being gentle with yourself during them can make all the difference.
