Update!!! (WIP and life)
Update time!! Sorry for disappearing all of a sudden. I had a couple of stuff thrown into my life recently and just lost motivation to post. But I’m back again.
Update 1 - WIP - So the top is all finished now. I’m working on the sleeves right now. I have an idea of what I want to do but I’m unsure if it’ll work so wait to see the results. I’m currently pausing this project for right now because my mom has been nagging me to make her some crochet hanging plants, and the kit she bought for me is from China with terribly translated instructions so that’s gonna take a bit.
Update 2 - Life - So I got a new job that I’ll be starting soon but that has been a whole rollercoaster of stress. Applying to places and not hearing back or going through the interview process and not getting the job is hard. What’s caused the most stress in this process was the 2 jobs I applied that had video interviews instead of in-person interviews. Being given a certain amount of time to answer a question and then getting a certain amount of retakes is stressful cause you want to make sure you answer the questions in a way that makes the people hiring want you. But I will say that Target was by far the less stressful than the other one cause I was given 3 tries to answer the questions and they gave you the question before your prep time so you got extra time to think about why you are going to say. But I’m happy with my new job at Target and even though it’s currently a seasonal position, it pays extremely well. I’ll be starting next Monday so wish me luck 😁
I’m also teaching my grandma how to crochet. Well I guess re-teaching her cause she used to crochet when she was younger but she hasn’t done it since. She enjoys quilting more but she can’t do that while in the recovery center she is in with my grandpa (that’s a whole different story that I won’t get into but they are ok, recovery is just a b* but we are working on getting them out soon). A friend of hers got her a pumpkin kit, but it was intermediate level and she was having such a hard time with the yarn and I was having trouble explaining what to do without showing her how to do it. So I got her (well my mom got her it cause I’m not spending money right now except for necessities and gas due to me being low on money) a Woobles kit cause the yarn they have with their kits is so much easier for her to work with and the videos are so helpful in teaching her what to do. We had another kit too (free shipping duh) so I’m doing the other one with her so we can do it together. Also found that using the different colored stitch markers I have is perfect for her to know what stitch she needs to do. Like if she reaches a blue stitch marker, she’ll need to do an increase/decrease stitch and if she reaches a green stitch marker, she’ll need to do a single stitch.
And finally, I got a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice kit coming so once that arrives, I’ll be posting about that as well as my review on the movie cause I did see it with my friend last weekend.
Anyways hope you enjoyed this update. I’m going to make a post schedule so I can hopefully be more active as I enjoy this community here.
Navigating personal updates can be both rewarding and stressful. If you’re interested in crochet, you’ll find that it’s a great way to unwind while creating beautiful pieces. Many beginners struggle with choosing the right yarn and understanding patterns, so seeking clearer instructions or easy-to-use kits can be beneficial. For instance, kits from companies like Woobles provide user-friendly guides that simplify the process for new crocheters. In addition to crafting, embarking on a new job can also bring excitement and anxiety. Video interviews are becoming increasingly common, and they often require different preparation strategies compared to traditional in-person interviews. Practice sessions can help ease nerves, and utilizing tools like mock interviews or feedback from friends can greatly enhance confidence. With a steady job now as part of the updates, embracing these new experiences can lead to personal growth. Lastly, engaging in community activities such as helping family members learn new skills adds a layer of fulfillment. Teaching someone else to crochet, just like working on personal projects, fosters connection and shared joy. As you dive into your craft, consider organizing your time effectively to balance work and hobbies, ensuring that you can remain active in your creative pursuits. Remember to share your progress and updates regularly, as the community thrives on shared experiences and learning from one another.
