Spring Break in Ocean City, MD
Ocean City is a great Spring Break destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy some vitamin sea 🌊. It is known for its entertaining boardwalk, great eats, a family atmosphere. It’s also a very budget friendly (especially in the off season).
Start your vacation off by finding the perfect spot on the beach and taking all the sunshine in. For a quick bite to eat, grab some boardwalk fries from Thrasher's French Fries . (Don’t let the sea gulls steal them)
You can find some great places to visit on the boardwalk. My favorite place is Ripley's Believe It or Not! as it has so many oddities you won’t find anywhere else.
You can do a lot of shopping either on the boardwalk or at the Outlets Ocean City . For dinner try The Bonfire Restaurant as they offer some of the best buffet style seafood.
Traveling with friends? Rent out a 4 person bike and go discover the city together. Love nightlife? Check out Seacrets as they always have live music and a swim up bar.
Don’t leave Ocean City without trying a twisted cone from Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard . They are a famous brand across the Mid-Atlantic seafront.

I totally get it – planning a Spring Break trip can be a bit overwhelming, but Ocean City, MD makes it so easy and fun! For those wondering 'how long is Spring Break in Maryland,' it typically falls around late March to mid-April, varying by school district. But honestly, the beauty of Ocean City during this time is that it's still a bit quieter than peak summer, offering a more relaxed vibe and often better deals! I found this was the perfect time to enjoy the beach without massive crowds. Beyond the classic boardwalk stroll and diving into some epic Thrasher's fries, there's so much more to discover. If you're looking for free activities, just spending an afternoon on the sandy beach is a must. I loved watching the scenic sunset view over the canal from my hotel balcony one evening – it was absolutely breathtaking. And who doesn't love a good photo op? Don't forget to twirl on the beach like nobody's watching, the ocean backdrop is perfect! For those who love a bit of adventure, renting those red four-person bikes is such a blast! My friends and I had a fantastic time exploring the boardwalk and side streets, laughing the whole way. It’s a great way to see the city at your own pace. And speaking of places to visit, if you're into unique dining experiences, you absolutely have to check out Hammerheads Ocean City. It wasn't in my initial plan, but a local recommended it for its laid-back atmosphere and delicious bay-side food, and it quickly became a favorite for a casual lunch with a great view. Their seafood tacos were out of this world! To make your trip even more budget-friendly, consider packing some snacks and drinks for the beach. While Ocean City has amazing food, every little saving helps! Many hotels offer kitchenettes, which can be a lifesaver. Also, keep an eye out for local deals and coupons, especially for places like the Outlets Ocean City. Even during Spring Break, you can snag some great bargains. And if you're traveling with family or looking for something different, mini-golf courses usually start opening up around Spring Break, offering another fun activity. The overall family atmosphere of Ocean City during this season is truly special; it’s lively but not overwhelmingly so. Whether you're indulging in a twisted ice cream cone from Kohr Bros Frozen Custard or catching some live music at Seacrets, Ocean City offers such a diverse range of things to do that you’ll never be bored. Seriously, it’s not just for college kids – it's for anyone looking for a refreshing getaway!
