Detroit Lions stained glass!

As a passionate Detroit Lions fan, I'm always looking for unique ways to showcase my team pride, especially something that adds a touch of artistry to my home. That's why I absolutely fell in love with the idea of creating stained glass art featuring our beloved Lions logo! It’s such a rewarding craft, and seeing the light dance through the colors of the glass truly brings a piece to life. When I started this project, I experimented with different shades to really capture the essence of the team. I ended up creating two distinct versions. One is a classic, deep dark blue stained glass piece that embodies the traditional Lions look, rich and commanding. The other is a slightly softer, yet equally striking, light blue and grey stained glass design. Having both options means I can fit them into different decor styles or simply enjoy the variety! The process itself is meditative and hands-on. From carefully selecting each piece of glass to cutting, grinding, and then meticulously wrapping each edge with copper foil tape, every step requires precision and patience. The final stage, soldering all the pieces together, is incredibly satisfying as the design finally takes its complete form. It’s truly a labor of love for any aspiring stained glass artist. Finding the perfect spot to display these pieces is half the fun! I love how they look when photographed against a natural backdrop, like a rustic wooden fence under a bright clear blue sky – it really makes the colors pop. But indoors, they truly shine. I have one hanging in a window in my living room, and when the sun hits it just right, it casts beautiful, vibrant patterns across the room. It’s especially magical during the winter months; seeing the blue and grey glass against a backdrop of a snowy outdoor landscape makes for such a cozy and spirited view. It’s a constant reminder of my team, even when the weather outside is frightful! These stained glass pieces are more than just decor; they're conversation starters and a testament to my dedication to Michigan football. They add an elegant, handcrafted touch that a standard poster or flag just can't match.
