Stitched with love (and a lot of coffee) 🫶☕️

One of my favorite ways to show love is through my crochet hook. I spent my quiet time last month working on this sunburst book cover for a coworker and friend.

There's something so peaceful about praying for someone while you work on a gift for them.

It's a small way to share a little light and remind her that she's loved every time she picks up her book.

... Read moreCrochet is more than just a craft—it's a way to express care, faith, and intention. When I crochet, especially pieces like the sunburst book cover, I find a calming rhythm that turns the process into a kind of meditation. It’s common to think of handmade gifts as purely physical, but adding a spiritual element like prayer infuses them with a unique warmth. Over time, crocheting for friends has taught me that each stitch carries a message. For example, working on a book cover for a coworker who loves reading made me think about how to give not only protection for her favorite books but also a visual reminder of friendship and support. The sunburst pattern is an excellent choice because its radiant shape symbolizes light and hope. Moreover, encouraging a mindful approach, I often pray for the person receiving the gift during my crafting sessions. This tradition adds an emotional depth that I believe can be felt by the recipient, turning the item into a cherished keepsake rather than just a functional accessory. Through communities like #FaithAndFriendship and #ChristianMaker, many crafters share similar experiences, emphasizing how communal support and shared values enrich the handmade journey. Whether you are new to crochet or an experienced maker, integrating personal intentions like prayers can enhance the meaningfulness of your projects. If you’re considering making your own sunburst square or any handmade gift, take a moment to reflect on the person who will receive it. Let your hands and heart work together to create something not just beautiful but profoundly personal and uplifting.
